What Happened with Samsung Galaxy Fold ?

Samsung is a company known for its innovative technologies. One of its most renowned and profitable division is Samsung Displays. There is no doubt that Samsung makes best displays in smartphone industry and it works constantly to improve existing and introduce new type of displays.
One of the common examples of this is the folding display. Samsung has been working on foldable display panels for smartphones for many years. They have kept this technology secret and didn't share with other companies.
The Launch
The result of this research and development came in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Fold which was briefly showcased by the company in November of 2018 and finally revealed in the Galaxy Unpacked event in California on 20th Feb 2019 alongside the Galaxy S10.

Samsung told at the event that the phone will be available in market from April 26th but what happened after that ?
The Review Units
After a few days of the launch, tech reviewers started getting their Galaxy Fold review units one of them was the youtuber Marques Brownlee. He posted the unboxing and impressions video on his channel but after that he noticed that a plastic layer was over the screen.

He thought it to be a protective layer that comes on all new phones and he peeled it off and removed it. Actually it was a part of the screen and it was not needed to be removed. Soon he started noticing some problems with the screen.
He was not the only one facing the problems with the device. Other people had different difficulties. In some cases dust stuck in the folding mechanism while in some the protective layer got peeled off by itself and in case of others the display stopped working without any damage.

The Problems
The display started getting blacked out from a corner and the black spot expanded to the middle of the display (from where it folded) and the the whole screen was black and stopped working. He contacted Samsung and got a replacement.

He was not the only one facing the problems with the device. Other people had different difficulties. In some cases dust stuck in the folding mechanism while in some the protective layer got peeled off by itself and in case of others the display stopped working without any damage.

This raised a lot of questions on Samsung's product design and the company's preparation to launch the device.
The Delays
Samsung came in the matter and took all the review units back They announced that they will provide a new release date for the product and solve all the problems of it.
Soon after this announcement, Samsung cancelled the product.
But now new reports say that Sansung is still working on a version of the phone and improving it and may release the product soon.
