Google is the biggest web based company and it has a great influence on the Internet. Google has a big collection of information that is stored in its data centres across the globe.
A big chunk of this information also include your personal information such as what you search on internet, your residence, current location, etc.
Your Contacts
First of all, if you use an Android phone then your phone automatically uploads your contacts to its servers via Google Drive.
It can be a handy feature if you switch phones frequently because you get your contacts by only signing in to your Google account.
But it can be a bad thing if you do not want to share your personal contacts with anyone especially the biggest and worldwide used information collector.
Your Location
If you think that no-one can find your location then it is your myth. Your location can never be hidden from Google.Even if you do not use Google maps or your GPS is turned off, Google can precisely locate you.
Google does it because they need your location to show you ads that are popular in your area.
It is good for advertisers to show most relevant ads for you.
But you should not be pleased with it because your location doesn’t remain private.
Your Photos and Messages
Google regularly syncs your data to its servers. In this synchronisation, your photos get stored on Google Photos and message data on Google Drive.
It is a good way to store backup data online.
But it is a risk also. With companies like Google, Data leaks are common which can expose your Photos and Messages to unknown people.
Your Interest
Google offers a service known as Adsense that offers ad services. It shows people ads on the topic of their interests.
Google knows your location, so it can easily find if you often go to Gym, Cafe, Bar, Barber, Furniture Shop and so on.
Google also track your searches from their website, Amazon, Flipkart, etc. to find about your selections. They find your choices from here and shows you ads based on these. That’s how you find familiar ads on any website you visit.
Conclusion
Whether you allow it or not, Google will always collect your data because it is essential for their ad network. As every coin has two sides. Although there are some risks, but there is a good side of it too.
This ad service provide many creators their revenue and you get familiar ads rather than some random ad which you may not like.
