Play PC games anywhere on any device : Google Stadia Explained

Let's look at the starting and journey of Google's own Game Streaming service known as Stadia and see what it has to offer to us.


Disappointment in Gamers

The gaming industry has been very crouded lately. It saw a steady rise in popularity since its introduction. Due to the high demand, different companies made a wide variety of games and to play them came different kinds of gaming consoles from many big game providers.


After some time, the graphics of personal computer got powerful enough to support high-resolution gaming. PC gaming also started getting pace. Due to brand exclucivity and power differences between gaming performances, some games came for some particular products.


These type of games are still popular and they work on a specific type of console. For example, a game will only run on Play station but not on Xbox. This system disappointed many game lovers as they  had to buy more than one gaming consoles to play their favorite games.

There was a disappointment in gaming industry due to it and Google realised it very well. Although Google is a newcomer in gaming industry, but it has many powerful servers and data centers around the world.

Introduction of Stadia by Google

Google was working on a gaming project from many years under the name of project stream. Also, Google was involved in games through its Play Store and Google Play Games. Google constantly teased the project to enthusiasts time to time.


In the starting of 2019, it was rumoured that google could introduce a game streaming service by which anyone can play his/her favorite game anywhere on any device. It was finally confirmed at Google Developers Conference on 19 March 2019 when Google unvieled the service in public.

How Does it Work ?

Stadia works on the power of Google data centers around the world which have extremely powerful computers in them. These computers have exceptionally fast computational capacity and very powerful graphical procesing.


Stadia works like Netflix but with games. It will offer users a big library of games to chose from. The games will take input from your device and then process in one of many google computers and finally, the output will be shown on your screen

It does not matter how much RAM your device have or which processor you are using because all the game processing happens out of your phone. What you really require is a device with high speed internet and an optional Google game controller.

How powerful is stadia ?

The Stadia platform runs on google servers which are very powerful and speedy. They contain very AMD's custom made Graphics cards which give them a very high output.


The custom processors built into them are capable of pushing very demanding bandwidth to your device almost instantly. It will offer 4K resolution at 60 fps at launch with 8K at 120 fps coming in 2020.

What will it cost ?

The service will launch later this year with 4K resolution at 60 fps as mentioned previously. It will compete directly with Xbox Game Pass and Play Station Now gaming services.


It will also give tough competition to Netflix. So, the price is expected to be around $15-$20 per month at base. It is the average price of above mentioned services.

It will be convenient to opt for stadia as you will not have to get extra hardware and downloading games like PSNow and Xbox Pass.
